As I've already
complained mentioned, there's not much in the way of beauty from the Oscars to talk about, and sadly there were no great nail moments like we saw from Zooey Deschanel at the Golden Globes last month. Instead, the nails fell into two camps: darks and nudes.
No nail art on the red carpet this year, or even classic red (although I think I may have spotted some form of red on Anna Faris but that's an exception and ruins my point a little bit, so let's ignore it) or any other brights - instead the attendees chose to keep things simple and wore either a dark nail polish in blue, purple or black, or else a neutral colour, like pale pink, nude or white.

Not that this is a bad thing: I love the way that Milla Jovovich matched her iridescent white nail polish to her sequinned gown and mother-of-pearl clutch, and Michelle Williams had an orange-hued nude polish that complimented her coral dress.
I also really loved the jewel-toned purple polish that Jessica Chastain chose to wear with her amazing McQueen gown - see, it is possible to wear an interesting colour without distracting from the dress! What did you guys think?
