While Katie Price was getting thrown out of The Hunger Games premiere last night, the premiere of the fifth season of Mad Men was happening in Hollywood! Since it's one of my favourite shows for lusting over the hair and make up (love all that sixties stuff), I'm really happy that the stars of the show didn't let me down on the red carpet - although sadly there was no sign of Christina Hendricks. :(

January Jones, who plays Betty Draper (or Francis I guess, isn't it?), jazzed up her bobbed, newly pink-streaked hair for the event, wearing it in beautiful loose curls. The actress paired her hairstyle with flicked eyeliner, lots of eyelashes (we suspect individual ones were used) and glossy red-pink lips, for a retro style in keeping with the show. Also her eyes looked really really blue.

Carrying on the retro-glam theme was Jessica Pare, who plays Don's fiancée Megan Calvet in the show: her glossy dark hair was put into a bouffant that ended at the back in a braided bun (a bit like Jennifer Lawrence's from LA's The Hunger Games premiere!). Quite minimal make up helped to balance out the attention grabbing style.

Kristin Lehman doesn't actually star in Mad Men, but it was nice to see her embracing the retro theme anyway, with a low side parting and curled ends.

Alison Brie meanwhile went for a different style: a trendy, voluminous bun piled right on top of her head. I love the puffed up nature of the 'do - it gives it a much softer finish than it would have done pulled tight against her head. Subtle smoky eyes that emphasised her dark features finished the look.
