brand-of-week-PHILOSOPHY-12.03.12.jpgphilosophy is one of our all time favourite beauty brands - gorgeous products on the inside and out, started on the idea that what was in them would give you better skin, and what was on them would inspire better days.

Created in 1996 by entrepreneur Cristina Carlino, the range started with skincare products like the purity made simple cleanser, but you'll probably know philosophy best from their bath and body ranges: delicious smelling products in packaging you never want to throw away, the 3-in-1 shower gels are a staple in my bathroom (I LOVE birthday cake and raspberry sorbet), and make excellent bubble baths.

You might have noticed that philosophy never use upper case letters and often have children's pictures on the packaging, which is down to their mandate of trying to keep the childish conciousness of 'curiosity, joy and wisdom' alive in us all - it works too. I dare you not to look at their (great) moisturiser hope in a jar and not feel a bit more peaceful.

It's impossible to talk about philosophy without mentioning amazing grace (our editor in chief is obsessed with it), developed by Cristina who wanted to create a 'clean' perfume she wasn't allergic too. We love their new version, summer grace - a warm, bright floral fragrance designed to evoke the light-hearted feeling of summer.

Probably my favourite thing about philosophy though are their amazing gift sets: they have one for every occasion imaginable and they always look beautiful - I still have the packaging from the Christmas ones I got because I can't bear to throw them away.
