I've always admired Charlize Theron, but not very actively - mostly just when I happen to see a picture of her somewhere and I acknowledge that she always looks pretty.
But this week during her promotional tour for Snow White and the Huntsman this week, I've completely fallen in love with her - I think she might be my new beauty icon. Every event she's attended she's presented a completely new look, from old Hollywood glam, to fresh faced and perky, to vampy temptress. It's been entertainment in itself really.
It all started on Monday at the world premiere of Snow White and the Huntsman, where she blew Kristen out of the water with her dramatic smokey black eye make up and 40s rolled updo, showing she (or more probably her make up artist) knows not to overdo it by keeping her lips natural and understated.
Then at a photocall in Berlin, Germany on Wednesday, Charlize whipped out her old Hollywood look, but with a modern twist (above). Red lipstick added some glamour, but it was kept far away from a coiffed Oscar look and towards a more relaxed one. The matte texture and soft application of the lipstick gave it an almost blurry, stained look (as opposed to perfectly painted lines) and sunkissed skin and an avoidance from the classic Hollywood flicked eyeliner made it, well, really cool. Her hair was curled and tousled into beachy waves, which helped the relaxed feel - an updo would have made it all a bit much for a photocall.
Charlize saved the updo for the premiere in Spain the next day anyway, where she wore a perfect red carpet ponytail; perky, softly pulled back and with some volume built into the crown. Make up was doll-like chic, with glowing skin, light eye make up and pink cheeks.
Such a beautiful collection of looks - I'm hoping there are more events to come, because I can't get enough!
