Along with a pack of champagne and canape hungry beauty journalists and a few John Lewis-esque celebs (you know the likes of Sadie Frost, Grace Woodward, Laura Bailey and Alice Tempereley), we attended the launch of the brand new Beauty hall in John Lewis' flagship store on London's Oxford Street.

The event was laid out as a Garden of Eden style affair with ethereal trees placed here and there with beautiful blossoms and a photo-wall covered in greenery. Tres cool. Unfortunately this is not how the space will be laid out for the busy shoppers on a day to say basis as I suspect a tree or two may get in the way of one's beauty shopping. Instead, the newly revamped retail space concept has been based on the idea of a Town Square, where all the premium cosmetics brands are positioned like 'houses' around a central area focused on fragrance and niche assortments such as haircare, skincare and nails. Quite a cool concept really but in essence it's just a REALLY nice place to go and shop for your beauty essentials and indulgences.

Along with the sparkling facelift, the new Beauty Hall will be home to a whole host of new and exciting brands including Burberry, Jo Malone and Topshop, as well as exclusives such as Liz Earle's new colour range, Dior BB cream and Clinique Stay Matte foundation. So if you're strolling down Oxford Street this weekend, I'd say it's definitely worth a visit! If not, check out some of our top picks below from their new beauty department. WANT. THEM. ALL.
