Probably more than any other brand M.A.C has the creative side of make up completely down: new, imaginative collections of themed, guest designed and fashion inspired products seem to be announced every week. They're definitely on the cutting edge of beauty in that aspect, and now they want their in-store services to match up: introducing M.A.C on 3.
Found on the third floor of Selfridges (hence, 'on 3') in London come June, it'll be a 710-square-foot "service focused showcase space" that will complement M.A.C's existing counter on the ground floor. Customers can visit for services ranging from lipstick demos and eyelash application, to masterclasses on everything from the very basics of make up application to bridal looks.
"M·A·C's heritage is firmly rooted in fashion and beauty; this new location is the perfect environment to give our customers an outstanding beauty offering," Terry Barber, M·A·C's Director of Makeup Artistry, explained. "It will allow the M·A·C artists to really focus on providing one-to-one service, styling and specific application needs to each individual."
"Selfridges constantly strives to bring new, exciting experiences and retail theatre to our customers which is why we are so proud to bring the new worldwide exclusive concept of 'M·A·C on 3' to our London flagship store," said Jayne Demuro, Head of Beauty at Selfridges. "This will be the first time we have housed a beauty brand permanently outside our Beauty Hall and celebrate a new chapter in the partnership between M·A·C and Selfridges."
As for prices - service fees range from very agreeable free demonstrations to £50 for a 90-minute lesson - but the value of your chosen experience is fully redeemable against any product purchased on the day of the appointment. Such an great idea - I might move in.

In this one on one makeup lesson your M·A·C artist will show you how to create the perfect look for your perfect day, giving you time to practise, learn and ensure you look your absolute best.
False Lash Application
A custom fitting including style selection, trimming and positioning. Complimentary service once M·A·C lashes have been purchased. Subject to artist availability.
Walk-in Demos
A personalised product demo focusing on eyes, lips or cheeks. Complimentary service subject to artist availability.
