Although the Television BAFTAs aren't quite as star-studded as the real ones, it was actually a much more interesting red carpet yesterday then the movie awards show back in February was.
There was also one overlying theme: hair up. This probably wasn't down to a new trend though - more down to yesterday's stifling heat: getting all the hair away from their faces was probably most of the attendees highest priority. Nobody wants to look hot and sweaty when they know the picture's going to be all over the world the next day.
So loads of updos - with the exception of Holly Willoughby - including an Alexander McQueen-esque bun on TOWIE star Amy Childs, and one that I'm really not sure about on Fearne Cotton. A very bronze Millie Mackintosh of Made In Chelsea was also there, showing off the benefits of her St. Tropez contract.
As for the make up: the mandatory red carpet smokey eyes and popping lips were all to be expected, but I was really impressed by 19-year old Eastenders actress Jacqueline Jossa, (I had to google her before I realised who she was) who looked beautiful with an Oscars-worthy look: perfect skin, subtle but emphasized eyes and neutral pink lipstick. Will be keeping an eye on her.
