This week's Nails of the Week goes to our Hannah for her super pretty glitter fade. How pretty is it? She's off to the Isle of White festival this weekend, and we think this style is the perfect way to feminise those grungy festival outfits she'll do doubt be rocking. Hannah may have gone and got these nails done professionally especially for her weekend of fun, but it's definitely one of those styles you can recreate at home with a few beauty buys.

The glitter fade is one of the easiest, but most effective nail art techniques out there. It's just a case of being really thorough and layering up the different polishes gradually. Start off with a base coat; I'm suggesting Illamasqua's nail base coat which is supposed to maximise colour adhesion and eliminate staining. Follow this with Estee Lauder's Pure Color Nail Lacquer in Pink Thrill. Give this two coats to make sure the colour is quite defined. Here comes the tricky (not really tricky) bit; use Accessorize Nail Polish Rock Star Pin-up and run the brush along the side of the bottle to make sure there isn't too much on the brush. Start three quarters of the way down the nail with a brief stroke. Add a second stroke starting half way up to build up the glitter then finally focus on the tip to get full glitter coverage. Finish the look off with a smooth finish with Dior's Manicure Top Coat which protects and sets nail enamel, increasing its staying power and shine.
