During the Summer months, spritzing with a heavy, musky fragrance isn't the best idea. What works well in winter isn't so great when it's 80 degrees outside. Perfumes with a high alcohol content can react with the heat in the air and on our skin, leaving us with headaches, yellow wrists and worse. Of course, the big perfume houses know this, which is one of the reasons why so many of them put out a special Summer edition scent, usually with a lighter fragrance, less alcohol and more of the essential oils or fragrances that work well in hot weather.
From coconut to tropical frangipani, rose to honeysuckle, there are plenty of Summery notes that work well in these lighter perfumes or eau de toilettes. You might also find your particular fragrance comes in special limited edition packaging (never underestimate how much this can sway the decision to purchase in Duty Free shops at the airport!) or a value gift set with a body lotion or shower gel.
