kate_middleton_2012_great-hair_chignon_updo.jpgKate Middleton has had quite a busy week so far, attending various Olympics events, although for once, all the attention has mostly been on our Team GB athletes, which must be a nice rest for her.

All eyes were back on the Duchess of Cambridge again last night though at a Creative Industries reception at the Royal Academy of Arts in London's Piccadilly to support the Government's GREAT Campaign, where she thrilled us all again by putting her hair up!

Catherine swept her hair back into a very elegant (as if it would be anything but) chignon, with the side sections of her hair twisted and pulled into a plaited bun that lay against the nape of her neck. It's nice to see that the Duchess is as enamoured with braids as we are - this is the latest in a line of hairstyles incorporating them that she's worn (the most popular so far seems to have been the plaited updo she wore to an Olympic Gala).

As for make up, it was more or less the same old Kate - dark eyebrows, pink blusher on the apples of her cheeks, a touch of bronzer, natural lips - with a slight difference on the eye make up. She seemed to have a little bit more of a smokey eye look going on for the event in addition to her beloved eyeliner - looks like we've discovered how the Duchess goes from day to night!

What do you think of her look? If Kate's giving you the urge to start sporting a classic updo, but you're a bit of a beginner, Goody's Updo Pin is absolutely fool proof and really really easy to use - we highly recommend it.
