Unless you're living under a rock (how did you get wifi there?) you'll know by now that Hollywood power couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are divorcing!
With most people sure that Katie has made some kind of bid for freedom from the evil clutches of Scientology, the Dawson's Creek actress has made an excellent (calculated?) move with this cover for US Elle - doesn't she look amazing? That is definitely the cover of a woman planning a new start. I mean, look at that smouldering stare.
Kudos must also go to her hair and make up team - the hair especially - it's basically the entire focus of this look. The actress does have beautiful, super long locks but we feel like some extensions have been added there to bulk it out, giving her that luscious sheet of hair (or hair cape as Amanda Bynes would say). It clearly even sparked a whole hair feature!
Some expertly sculpted cheekbones, eyes lined in black feline flicks framed by those long dark lashes - love the way they've been emphasized on the lower line - and some peachy bronze lips transform her usual innocent, girl-next-door look into sexy toughness. And Katie is definitely trying to let us know she's all grown up now. "I definitely feel much more comfortable in my own skin. I feel sexier. I think in my 20s, it's like you're trying too hard to figure everything out," she told Elle. "'I'm starting to come into my own. It's like a new phase."
