Hair oils are undoubtedly this year's breakout beauty product as they work on all hair types. If you've yet to try a hair oil on your own locks, why don't you try the latest launch from Elvive, L'Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil (RRP £9.99) ?

The product is a blend of six precious flower oil extracts within a caring formula, which helps to nourish for a silky, shiny finish that's soft to touch. It has a subtle summery scent and a surprisingly light finish, and works beautifully to help keep hair looking healthy without weighing it down.

The product is ultra-versatile and below we show you three ways to use it to suit your hair type and styling preferences:

1. As a conditioning treatment

For intensive care, try applying a few pumps of the oil to your hair before you shampoo, giving it time to act on the hair and condition it beautifully. You can leave it on for as long as you like - try an overnight treatment on very dry and damaged hair, or pop a warm towel on and wait 10-15 mins for a quick boost of soft-feel and improved condition for normal or fine hair. Follow with shampoo as normal.

2. Before styling

This is a traditional way to use hair oil: towel dry your hair and apply just a couple of drops of the oil, concentrating on the lengths and ends. This will make hair appear smoother and as you style it, you'll provide a look of softness, giving you beautifully glossy locks!

3. As a finishing touch

Extraordinary Oil can also be used on dry hair for a shine boost and to help protect against fly-aways. Be sparing in your application - you shouldn't need more than a couple of squirts, making the product really good value. This will leave your hair with a glowing shine and looking beautifully perfected.
