Our excitement at the upcoming Karl Lagerfeld for shu uemura collection has been reignited - some shots of the products have finally been released!
WWD have given us a look of what the collection holds, and we were right to be excited because it's totally lived up to our expectations.
The line features 17 pieces, including some of shu uemura's biggest selling cult products: the UV Under Base Mousse, the worshipped eyelash curlers (with a special red silicone pad instead of black) and their renowned cleansing oil have all been given a Karl makeover for his collection which has SUKL mascot Mon Shu (Karl's version of a Japanese Manga character) stamped all over it.
Two pairs of eyelashes, both in red and black, colours which feature prominently in the range, one a pair of fluttery feathered outer lashes, and the other a show stopping pair in black fabric strips with white and red diamonds stamped down them, which are reminiscent of playing cards.

Eye-and-cheek palettes come in two colourways, one green and one purple, and each one contains among other colours, a red eyeshadow. I don't think they actually expect many people to wear it - it's mainly so Karl can use red in his drawings now. "Red is a symbolic color for Karl Lagerfeld, because he always dreamed of a red eye shadow to make his sketches. So they created it in this palette for him," said Engrand. A dark purple gel eyeliner completes the eye products.
As four lips, there are four lip colours which are Mon Shu Red, Luxe Burgundy, Celebrity Beige and Parisienne Pink. Accepting that nail art is a trend that's not going away, each of the nail colours - Karl Black, Shu Shu Red and Royal Beige - come with a strip of nail stickers featuring Mon Shu. A mini brush kit and a makeup box finish off the collection.

This seems like quite a big collection to me (for a collaboration especially) but Karl is under the impression that this is limited - which makes me wonder how many products they cut! "It was not easy to make a limited choice with all the things they have and do," explained Karl, who also shot the campaign for this which he calls "eastern, perfect, mysterious, modern beauty."
The collection, which is for shu uemura Holiday 2012 hits the UK in October. What will you be getting?
