After telling you it was on the way back in July, we've finally got our hands on Ciate's newest nail sensation, the Velvet Manicure!
Following on from their Caviar Manicure, the Velvet mani replaces the tiny beads with strands of crushed velvet so you get a soft, textured matte effect.
We tried it out for this weeks Nails of the Week, in Mink Cashmere (light gray).
It's essentially the exact same technique as the Caviar manicure - apply one coat of the polish, let it dry, and then. one finger at a time, apply a second coat and sprinkle the fibres over it until the nail is completely covered in a heavy layer to give a 'sumptuous' finish.

You then use the 'little black brush' enclosed to sweep off the excess strands, and after 10 minutes, it should all be dry! Very easy - this took us about 10 minutes.

It's a very interesting style - very fuzzy. I think the red or blue colour would probably have more of an impact - this one has a very wintry vibe. It's definitely more practical than the Caviar one was.
Let us know what you think! Will you be trying this? (£14 at Selfridges)
