It's no secret that we love organic mineral make up brand Inika . We made them Brand of the Week all the way back in March and I've lost count of the number of times I've waxed lyrical about their Certified Organic Kohl Eyeliner, which was the first time I ever saw an eyeliner with a in-built sharpener and it blew my mind.
So it came as no surprise to us to hear that their latest cult product - The Certified Organic Liquid Mineral Foundation - sold out in four minutes when it launched on QVC!
We first tried this foundation a year or so ago, and we were blown away by the amazing coverage and lightweight feel. It's since been reformulated and repackaged to offer a better-than-ever flawless face and even more blendability, and it's been winning awards and fans the world over as a result.
In terms of texture, the product sits somewhere between a traditional liquid foundation and a tinted moisturiser. It's fairly runny in consistency, but the pigment is strong so a little goes a long way. You can quickly build up a really great coverage, and it works particularly well to reduce redness and even the skintone - great news for me as I suffer from high pigmentation around my cheeks and chin, as well as those horrible dark circles!
In the new formula, I tried 'Beige' shade - the yellower of the two pale shades. I think perhaps 'Cream' would be an even better match for my very pink-toned skin, but this blends so well I think either will work. Here I am before and after applying.
I was really impressed with how easily this applied and blended. For those who find the buffing technique and messy application of mineral powders a bit difficult to get to grips with, this liquid alternative offers similar skin-enriching properties.
You'll benefit from high percentages of skin-loving ingredients like Aloe Vera, Tamanu Oil and Green Tea Extract (an anti-inflammatory - try it around the eyes to reduce puffiness). Take a look at the ingredients list for this baby and you won't spy all the chemicals you see in traditional foundations, making this a good choice for sensitive skins too.
It lasts all day with a finish that's semi-matte, with just enough dewiness to look healthy, not chalky. I've heard rumours that it's so good for your skin that you can sleep in it...but I'd advise against that, unless you're in not fit state to remove it!
