Just when I thought I could always predict the make up Christopher Bailey would send his models down the catwalk with during his Burberry Prorsum shows, he changed the game completely.
For the Burberry Prorsum SS13 London Fashion Week show, instead of the strong eyes, strong eyebrows minimal lip look I've come to expect, it was the complete opposite - vampish, matte burgundy lips ruled the make up here.
The look was, of course, created using Burberry make up and by Burberry Artistic Consultant Wendy Rowe. The skin was all about a sheer flawless complexion with that typical sculpting on the cheekbones, achieved using Sheer Glow and Fresh Glow in Earthy Blush No.07. Eyes were subtly coated with Sheer Eyeshadow in Gold Trench No.04 and Pale Barley No.22, and definition added with the Eye Definer in Golden Brown No.06. Those beautiful lips were created with Lip Velvet in Siren Red, a new matte shade for A/W released soon, and Lip Definer in Brick Red No.05.
Somehow, though being a million miles away from what Burberry usually do with their makeup, it's still so Burberry - if a little more AW then SS. Like?
