ciate_sequin_manicure_kit.jpgWe wondered what Ciate would think up as the next medium in their wildly successful manicure kits after the Velvet and Caviar ones - glitter was the clear winner for the upcoming party season, so Ciate are launching the Ciate Sequined Manicure Nail Kit!

It works in just the same way as the other two kits, with a base coat and then a material that sticks to it. The Ciate Sequined Manicure comes with a big jar of glitter, a clear Sequin Glitter Grip base coat and a brush to sweep away excess. I tried it out in the interests of journalism.

First you paint all of your nails with a coat of the Glitter Grip and let it dry. Then one-by-one, you give each of your nails another coat and dip it into the pot of glitter so that it sticks to the polish.

Once you've covered you nail in the glitter, press the glitter down into the nail bed, very gently (seriously, because it has a tendency to slide around if you use too much pressure).

Repeat with each nail, until they're all covered and add another coat of the clear base to seal the glitter in. Wait for 15-20 minutes for it to be fully dry and voilà! Super sparkly nails.

This is going to be massive during Christmas without a doubt. I used the Harlequin style, with a mix of red, blue, green and silver, but there are also Tu-Tu, a mixture of pink, purple and red, and Super Duper, gold, copper and green. It does make quite a mess though. There's glitter all over my keyboard and my face.

The Ciate Sequined Manicure Kit will be £15 each, available in Selfridges from early November. Will you be getting one?
