If there's one thing we like better than make up it's cake, so you can imagine our happiness when the latest new releases from NYC cosmetics were delivered with some New York themed cupcakes. Best delivery ever.

Anyway, one of the new collections NYC have launched for Autumn/Winter are the party friendly Metallic Eyeliner, which come in four colours, Serpentine Purple, Leopard Print (a bronze brown), Liquid Gold and Silver Light. As usual with NYC, the quality of the products is really high, considering the price - you can pick up these for £2.99 each.

The brush is really thin, so you can create a fine line (sometimes key with metallics) - it's also great for lining under the eye if you want to try the SS13 trend but not spend loads on a striking eyeliner. The Leopard Print shade is interestingly multi-tonal too, with glints of gold coming through the bronze - it makes it look way more expensive than it is. They're well wearing too and unlike some liquid and glittery eyeliner come off really cleanly (glitter eyeliner is usually a nightmare to get off). If you get the gold, get NYC's amazing gold Full Metal Jacket polish to match.

Also in this new collection is a felt tip eyeliner, which I'm very excited about - I am obsessed with these, it's the easiest way to apply liquid eyeliner. NYC High Definition Felt Tip Liner (above in Deep Brown) is pretty good - it feathered slightly when I swatched it on my hand but it has a great firm tip. And again, just £2.99. Such a bargain.

I didn't have high expectations for the Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm (£2.49) - cheap lip colours always seem drying and flaky - but its apple-shaped core of shea butter, jojoba and avocado oil makes it really hydrating (more so than YSL's lip balm). It comes in some really pretty, soft colours: above is 355 Applelicious Pink. More make up should smell like apples. Delicious.
