Ēclats Du Soir De Chanel campaign.jpgChanel have taken a classic approach to Christmas with their holiday collection this year: staying on the berry red trend that we've seen everywhere for AW12, Peter Phillips has created a range inspired by the classic Chanel rouge noir.

We got a selection of the products to show you, starting with our favourite piece, the Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick in L'Impatiente (£25).

The beautiful matte texture of this lipstick is perfect for the season, especially for glamourous Christmas parties paired with a strong eyebrow and perfectly coiffed hair. Chanel suggest you wear it in the evening to "bring out the audacity and intensity of its colour". For those of you who like a uniform look, L'Impatiente matches the nail polish in this collection, Malice (£18).

Red with a black sheen and ruby red glitter, this is the perfect polish for the festive season. It's just gorgeous isn't it? Sadly we haven't got a sample to swatch, but you can see a swatch on Temptalia.

Joues Contraste in Star Dust (£31) is a soft pink blusher streaked with gold: it's very glittery, so beware if that's not your thing. It goes on quite sheer with the brush - I patted it on with my fingers to get the rosy effect above. My favourite thing about this is that it has a delicious scent of roses.

Ombres Contrastes Duo in Nuit-Claire (£30) provides the perfect eyeshadow duo for the season, a grey-black and a shimmery champagne. The texture of the grey is really nice - it glides on smoothly and produces a smoky effect without you even having to do anything, and they blend together brilliantly.

The collection is out on November 9th.
