I try a load of new products on a weekly basis - at launches where I'm checking out the things I'll be writing about three months later, at my desk when a delivery of new goodies come to the office, or even just at home when something runs out (usually make up remover) and I move on to another sample.
Sometimes I hate something and it doesn't make it past day two, but other times I use something and wonder how I lived without it for so long. This happened this week when my skin got annoyingly dry (take a bow, winter) and so one night I rooted through my skincare stocks at home for something that would fix it and found Dr Lewinns Super Hydrator (£41). You put it on before your moisturiser to give it a boost and it is amazing. The next morning the patches on my cheeks were almost gone and by evening I was good as new. Just a few days later my skin is velvety smooth, and usually it starts to feel dry because of the aircon in the office but not any more thanks to the lived up to promise of 24 hour hydration.
We spend a lot of time - a lot - putting on nail varnish and when we take pictures of swatches, there's nothing worse then having a messy paint job. Nails Inc made me very happy this week with their Corrector Pen (£10) so any mistakes and be cleared up easily and quickly. Plus you can turn the tip over when it's been used as much as it can, and there are two extra nibs held at the end.

Also from Nails Inc, the most amazing gold glitter nail polish ever in Chelsea Embankment (£11) - a fine, true glitter that goes on pretty much completely opaque in the first coat - rare in a glitter nail polish, trust me.
Occasionally I use something and hate it, but then change my mind. This happened with Redken All Soft Supple Touch spray (£13.95) which I used when I first got and I didn't like it all all. I sprayed it onto my dry hair (it's basically serum I thought, that should work) and it made it oddly straw like and not nice. I wrote it off. But then I decided to give it a go and actually looked at the instructions, applying it to damp hair and blow drying it in, and it was brilliant, leaving my hair silky and smooth.
Anything you've tried this week that you love?
