Chanel's gothic fairytale at Haute Couture Fashion Week
Haute Couture Fashion Week continues today, and while at Dior yesterday it was all about the lips, Chanel went big on eyes with a dramatic, gothic fairytale this morning.
Karl Lagerfeld clearly had a thing for birds this season, because there were feathers everywhere. Black eyeshadow was the main product for this look: Chanel make up Creative Director Peter Philips designed a feather-like, winged shape that pulled the eye right out to the temples with shadowy, smudged flicks that resembled spiky oversized lashes. Lips were soft, pink and slightly pearlescent, and skin was fresh with princess pink cheeks.
The hair was even more dramatic than the eyes: Sam McKnight created huge messy updos, each crafted differently to suit the model, and topped with feathered headpieces, butterfly broaches and combs.
Also Sam McKnight has been tweeting up a storm - there are some great behind the scenes pictures here!
