chanel_spring_2013_collection.jpgChanel's Spring 2013 collection Printemps Précieux De Chanel is the softest, prettiest offering for this season. Far from NARS' 90s esque vivid colours and metallic lipsticks, Chanel have gone for a typically elegant and refined collection full of natural shades with an irrediscant touch.

The star of the show is the Poudre Signée De Chanel (£46), a finishing powder embossed with a camellia and lipstick motif which leaves a "halo of soft light" on the skin.

The eyeshadows in the collection are really wearable too - if you're going to get just one thing, these will definitely serve you well over the whole year. The Les 4 Ombres in Raffinement (£37) is the best: soft browns, taupe and beige with a pearlised finish.

Rouge Allure lipstick comes in four news shades to go with the neutral tone of the collection - we've swatched Envoûtante, a violet-plum with a subtle shimmer, below:

Among the earthy, autumn-like colours though there are some much more spring-appropriate flashes of colour when it comes to lips and nails.

Rouge Allure Velvet comes in two shades La Favorite, a bright coral and L'Ēclatante, a gorgeous bold bright pink that also has a matching lipliner, Le Crayon Lévres in Rubellite which you can see below!

(Also in that swatch you might just be able to see a soft metallic pink scribble which is Stylo Yeux Waterproof eyeliner in Béyrl, £19 - it didn't show up well enough in pictures for its own swatch) Rubellite and L'Ēclatante also have a matching nail polish, Chanel Les Vernis (£18) in Fracas, accompanied by Accessoire, a deep red-brown and Emprise (below), a soft rosy beige that brings to mind angora jumpers.

The collection is out 18th January 2013!
