rihanna_grammys_makeup_2013.jpgEven though just last week Kate Moss declared matching nails and lips a big faux pas, Rihanna made them her big beauty statement at the Grammys last night.

The singer wore a striking bright red gown to the awards show which took place in Los Angeles, and matched her lipstick and nails to the exact shade of her dress. Despite Kate Moss' views, I think the effect is actually really cool, especially in red - very punchy.

In fact, it was a much more demure look from Rihanna than we usually see, even with the sheer panels in her red gown, and she's gone with a classically beautiful look rather than flat-out sex appeal - just proving that sometimes less can be more Riri!

He gel nail colour was created especially for her by mixing Red Carpet Manicure shades Ooo La Licious and Red Carpet Reddy together - according to her manicurist Kimmy Kyees, "Rihanna wanted to match her dress perfectly with an orange-red colour, so we blended two colours to come up with the perfect look."

Rihanna carried on the red theme with a perfectly painted coral-y red matte lip, paired with some piercingly defined eyes, lined on the waterline and flicked on the upper lashline.

Old Hollywood makeup would be nothing without a cascading mane of hair, so she swapped her short crop (with the help of some weave) for tumbling ombre waves.

Perfectly done, don't you think?
