rihanna_hearts_mac_fall_collection.jpgAfter all the excitement of London Fashion Week we were expecting things to be a bit quieter, but the news we've heard today has got us all riled up again - Rihanna is following up her collaboration with River Island with one for MAC!

It's not just one collection either - in a first for the make-up brands long history with celebrity partnerships, Rihanna has designed four separate collections - including a holiday one - called RiRi ♥'s MAC, in a 'long-term' collaboration as their 'creative partner'.

Rihanna says the team up was 'a no-brainer': "When you think of makeup, the brand that pops into your mind - for something legit - is MAC," she told WWD. "Whatever colour you want, it's like 'Let's go to MAC.' I've been using MAC on tour for such a long time it was a natural fit for me. I have always loved makeup, and I always said that if I do it, I want to do it with a credible brand."

RiRi ♥'s MAC, will drop over the course of 2013 and, says John Demsey, group president of the Estée Lauder Cos. Inc. (MAC's parent company), are like 'four tracks on a Rihanna compilation'. "Each one has its own vibe, look, special makeup packaging and flavour. This is really the convergence of pop culture, fast fashion, and iconic style and makeup," he explained.

As part of her first collection MAC will release RiRi Woo, a blue-red and retro matte lipstick inspired by the classic Ruby Woo (Rihanna's favourite lipstick), the signature piece of the collab which will feature in all four collections. The release of RiRi Woo will coincide with Rihanna's Diamonds Tour concerts on the 4th May at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, where MAC will open a pop-up shop.

Among the products in the summer collection will be two more lipsticks, a Lustre Drops shade and a powder blush duo, and the Fall collection will include four lipsticks, a Lipglass version of RiRi Woo, two eye shadow palettes and false lashes, all in delicious sounding rose-gold packaging (the holiday collection - featuring nail polish, a makeup bag and lipsticks - will be in pearly white packaging with pink accents).

It sounds like Rihanna was really involved in the process too, which makes a refreshing change from a lot of celebrity collaborations - she talked about learning to create differant shades and textures, explaining of the creation of RiRi Woo "It's difficult to get a red lipstick that beats Ruby Woo, because it works on every skin tone. I had so many different samples to choose from and so many different colours underneath - blue, yellow, orange and pink bases. And I got to pick one that worked, and I tried it on all my friends to make sure it worked on all of our skin tones."

Could that have been the beautiful red shade she was wearing at the Grammys? We cannot wait to see this collection! What about you?
