Aw13_topshop_Unique_makeup.jpgLooks like we won't be rid of the nineties for another season yet - at Topshop Unique A/W13 yesterday models wore that signature of 90s beauty - blue eyeshadow.

Hannah Murray was at the helm backstage where she was using Topshop Makeup (of course) to create a 90s Brit pop look.

"For the make up we took inspiration from the 90's Brit Pop fashion colours and textures, there's a New Wave feel to the collection but with a cool toughness; the girls have attitude but with ease," she said.

Hannah explained, 'We created a Wedgewood blue chalky eye to contrast against the high gloss, PVC textures of the fashion. I used the metallic blue cream of the Eye Quad in Game On (£12.50) as a base before creating an almond shape around the eye using the Wedgewood blue shade of the Eye Duo in Solstice.'

Nails were a high contrast from the soft matte colour on the eye - no nail art here, instead a high gloss red courtesy of the bright pillarbox red shade Nails colour Lacquered (£5 here).

I love the blue eyeshadow in this case - the lack of mascara really keeps it from looking tacky, and gives it a fresher, modern finish - but I'm not sure it's a look that I could pull off in real life. What do you think?
