clarins_paris-launch_party_display.jpgWe were so excited to be invited to go to Paris with Clarins to attend the launch of the newest addition to their range - BB Skin Perfecting Cream!

It's about the product really isn't it so I'll skate past the amazing French food...

and scenery...

(Laduree counts as scenery.) ...and the launch party with make up installations...

...and a make-your-own-macaroon table.

And stick to the actual product.

Clarins touts it as a product that bridges the gap between make up and (their amazing) skincare. Of all the BB creams I've tried so far, its probably the closest to what I was expecting when I first heard about these miracle creams (that mostly turned out to be pretty much tinted moisturiser). It has a thick, almost gel like consistency which blends out smoothly onto skin with a satin, demi-matte finish. The formula might seem a little thick, but Clarins suggest you warm it up in your hands before application to loosen it up.

As for the skincare benefits that make a BB a BB, this one, as well as having an SPF of 25, features organic Kiwi extract (an anti-oxidant with anti-fatigue benefits) to energise and boost radiance, Katatfray Bark extract to stimulate the skin's natural hydration process and minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also offers protection from the elements, with Vitamin E, anti-oxidant White Tea extract and Succory Dock. The balm is also full of light reflecting pigments which brighten and create a lovely healthy glowing-from-within effect.

It comes in three shades, 01 light, 02 medium and 03 dark. As you can see above, they're all very much in the middle of the skin tone spectrum in terms of colour - the 01 shade is still to dark for my skin, but actually mixed with a bit of their Instant Light Complexion Perfector (£26), it tones down the colour to make it a much better match (something to consider if you're pale too but you want to give it a go).

The Clarins BB Skin Perfecting Cream SPF 25 will be out in May, at £28 each!
