FIRE_facial.jpgWell and there's was us thinking we wouldn't see a treatment worse or weirder than last year's disgusting Vampire Face lift starring Kim Kardashian (recap: blood was taken from her arm, spun to make PRP - Platelet Rich Plasma - reapplied back onto her face, which was then pricked all over to allow the platlets to seep back in).

I forgot quite how gross it is, urgh.

Anyway, while this new treatment isn't quite as disgusting as having blood smeared on your face and then pricked back in, it is absolutely terrifying as it uses fire.

Yes, actually fire.

The treatment comes from China where the Huǒ liáo treatment (or "fire facial") is apparently getting quite popular. Clearly the Chinese are fearless.

Basically what happens with this is that a towel soaked in some 'elixir' is placed on the face or body, and then it is set slight while the therapist stands over you with a second towel to put you out again. Apparently this stimulates the skin and addresses dullness, sagging and wrinkles. Probably due to the shock of being on fire.

Below is a video of the treatment being applied to some brave souls. Note that the 'seconds' of being on fire are a bit longer than I would be happy for, had I been told it lasted 'a few seconds'.
