The Beauty Quest: Price comparisons get pretty

bquest.gif

The search for that beauty product to rule them all is an ongoing quest, with every new mascara an adventure in longer lashes and extra curl. Be it a beautiful palette, a wrinkle reducing face-mask or the prettiest powder around, I'm constantly on a quest for wonder products, whilst enjoying the ride.

A new website has launched to make your beauty purchases a little easier, aggregating products from across the web and allowing you to get the best price for that pout-enhancing lippie. We've seen services like this with Amazon and Google Price search, but there has never been a dedicated portal for beauty like this before. The Beauty Quest site is well designed in deep shades of pink and black and extremely easy to navigate.

Treatment alert: Return 2 Glory mobile massage

Aromatherapy_massage12.jpg

Unless you're extremely ticklish or plagued by eczema head to foot, you've probably enjoyed a massage before. The feeling of lying down on a bed, baring your shoulders and letting the world slowly disappear can't be beaten, but often we're too time poor to manage to schedule one in.

When attending an event recently I noticed a selection of massage chairs set up in the corner of the room and was introduced to the mobile massage service that is Return 2 Glory. They specialize in being flexible, and working around your arrangements, whether that's setting up a temporary chair in your office, or visiting you at home.

Kate Moss to add makeup to her empire?

Kate Moss makeup.jpg

There is little women won't by if it comes with the possibility of nabbing a tiny little bit of Kate Moss's iconic style. The popularity of her line for Topshop, her three perfumes, and her campaign for Coty's Rimmel London come to mind. But, as seems to be Kate's way, she seems to be tired of hawking someone else's makeup and might want to hawk her own.

"I've been modeling for 20 years," she told WWD, estimating that she has spent six years in makeup chairs. "Somebody can do my makeup; I don't even have to look in a mirror to know what it looks like because I just know by what it feels like on my face."

The line would likely be with Rimmel, as Coty also holds the licenses to Moss's fragrances.

Preview Chanel Spring 2010 beauty - Les Impressions de Chanel Collection

Chanel 1.jpg

Images of Chanel's Spring 2010 makeup collection - Les Impressions de Chanel - have hit the Web and I'm digging the sandy campaign photos and muted spring colors. You don't often see gray, clay-like hues in a spring color collection but the shade seems to make it into a nail vernis and eye shadow which I'm very excited about. At right is a face powder from the line, but for the really juicy pics keep reading.

NARS create the Everlasting Love palette for their 15th anniversary

Nars_50th.png

Can you imagine a world without NARS products- or more accurately, without the famous NARS Orgasm? No, me neither. But if you were born before 1995 you'd have grown up without this beloved brand in your makeup bag.

To celebrate that it has reached the age of a sulky teen, NARS is releasing a limited edition eye palette. It's called Everlasting Love to symbolize their enduring properties, with a mixture of smoky shades and rich hues that you'd expect from a NARS product.

Smell like a prostitute, err... a 'Pretty Woman'

Pretty Woman perfume.jpg

Hmm. Now, I know that the song "Pretty Woman" is just as famous as the movie "Pretty Woman." But does anyone really hear that song anymore without thinking of Julia Roberts as a hooker? And, while I'm sure Julia Roberts is as good a celebrity as any to hitch your beauty-product-star to, do you want it to be because of her roll as a trashy street walker? Because make no bones about it, no matter how much I love that movie and how glam and polished Julia becomes and what a heart of gold she has, in the beginning she is trashhhhhhy.

These are the things I think of when I hear about the new Pretty Woman Perfume, being launched by the song's creator's widow Barbara Orbison.

"The name Pretty Woman is important to me, not just because of the song or the movie, but because I feel every woman is pretty, every woman is beautiful, and it doesn't make a difference where they live or how old they are," Orbison said.

Right now the scent will mostly be available at a few boutiques in the U.S., but Orbison says she is in talks with distributors in England.

Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper sign to MAC

Gaga-Lauper.jpg

This sounds like a match made in cosmetic heaven! MAC has finally confirmed that Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper will be the new faces of the MAC Aids Fund, in a campaign called "From Our Lips." Love her or hate her, Gaga is certainly a modern icon of crazy fashion and beauty, and Lauper represents all things fabulous from the 80s and the decade's new millenium revival.

Campaign images can be expected February 25. The songstresses will likely appear in the ads wearing their lipsticks - MAC Viva Glam Gaga and MAC Viva Glam Cyndi. The lip colors will go on sale in the US March 18 and worldwide throughout the month.
