Cindy Crawford creates the Meaningful Beauty skincare line

mbeauty.JPG

Cindy Crawford has amazing skin. Come to think of it, she has a pretty amazing everything, from lustrous hair to a figure that would have many a twenty year old green in the face, Not bad for a 43 year old, huh? The majority of her looks can be attributed to good genes and a healthy lifestyle (plus a little bit of Botox), but skincare does play a part too. As a model Cindy has been privy to many a beauty brand, so one that she has put her name to should hopefully be quite impressive.

Say Hello to the Nutra Sonic- a Clarisonic by another name?

carboncopies.jpg

Clones are no secret in the beauty world, as where one vibrating mascara goes, five more follow quickly behind. The Clarisonic is fairly new to the UK (with an already established fanbase in the USA) and I've been very impressed with my device, finding it gives me an exceptionally deep clean.

Imagine my surprise when a looky-likey device popped into my email inbox, titled the Nutra Sonic. It's slightly cheaper than the Clarisonic, and purports to do EXACTLY the same thing.

Product Review: Medik8 BetaCleanse and C-Tetra Serum

medik8_betacleanse.gif

The line between cosmetics and pharmaceutical products has never been so blurred, with all sorts of products claiming they cosmeceutical value. The definition of a cosmeceutical is a 'product that works on the skin with high active ingredients' and it's important you recognize which do that, and which promise you lots and don't deliver.

Medik8 is a British grown brand, developed to provide results without the irritation that you might find ins some other active products. They cater to everything from spot prone skin to ageing skin, and have a range of complementary products on offer.

Clarisonic Product Review: Acne Prone Skin

clarisonic-pro-4.jpg

Last month I told you all about the Clarisonic device coming to the UK and I've been faithfully using it for the last three weeks. I was initially unsure how effective the device would be- the research trials sounded fantastic but I just couldn't get my head around paying £146 for what's essentially a battery operated cleaning device.

However I now rescind all doubts, as I find myself irrevocably taken with it. It's simply so easy to use, and provides such astonishing effects. Read on for my full review.

Product Review: Bulgari Radiance Cleansing Milk and Radiance Toning Lotion

bvlgari1.jpg

Bulgari is name better associated with high quality gems than skincare, so it's no surprise that their foray into this world includes 'Gem Essence'. This ingredient has been created by extracting parts from four precious stones, which are sapphire, malachite, tourmaline and citrine. Whether or not this addition will make the products any more effective than those without it can be debated, though they say using this can help shield the skin, improve circulation and restore brightness.

On the less waffly side, the whole line is non-comedogenic, and allergy tested. There are two lines within Bulgari Gem Essence Skincare, one for anti ageing ( Precieuse ) and one for enhance revitalization (Lumiere line).

I tried out the Radiance Cleansing Milk and Radiance Toner.

New blackhead-busting pads for Neutrogena Wave

neutrogena-wave.pngRemember the Neutrogena Wave? The battery-powered cleaning machine is a bit like a more affordable, lower-tech version of the Clarisonic; the deep cleansing device there's been such a 'buzz' about since it landed on our shores from the States last month.

Well now the Wave has stepped up its game with a new range of 'cushions' to pop on the end of the gadget. Its new blackhead elminating pads stick easily on to the device just like the standard ones do, but they deliver a 'blackhead fighting ingredient' deep into the skin's pores to ensure a clear complexion.

No longer being in the first flushes of youth, I had to wait quite a while for a spot to emerge so I could put this product thoroughly through its paces. Never before had I so eagerly awaited a zit! But my body soon obliged and I headed for the bathroom tooled-up and ready to scrub.

Read on for my review

The Clarisonic skin cleaning device launches in the UK (finally)

clarisonic.jpg

What the USA gets, the UK follows closely behind, but not so in the case of the Kindle or the Clarisonic, Both have been out in the USA for yonks, and only one of those has finally made it to our shore (but the Kindle is rumoured out for Xmas here...)

The Clarisonic is a power assisted brush cleanser that utilizes Sonicare technology to deep cleanse the skin. Yes that's right- the same power that runs those electric toothbrushes is used in the creation of this skin cleaning device. So what is it exactly, and how does it work?
