There are a wide selection of tools that promise to help clear your skin, and reduce the sign of breakouts and I've probably tried a fair number of them. The No!No! spot remover, a variety of medications for your skin and even had the rather painful IPL treatment for acne. None have proved very effective though (well the meds were, but there were side effects) so I tend to view any new tool for the skin rather dubiously.
However Tria, the makers of the AMAZING Tria laser hair removal device have got involved, and as I'm very impressed with their original product I thought I'd have a look.

I follow many of my favourite beauty stores on Twitter, and often it makes me aware of products that might otherwise escape my radar. The fabulous Look Fantastic Twitter feed alerted me to the fact there's a new and exciting hairdryer on the scene. As someone who personally HATES drying their hair (the sound gives me the heebie jeebies) the idea of cutting down on drying time is always desirable.
Named after the Apollo mission, this hairdryer says it has 'enough technology to power a space mission'. OK, I don't believe that claim, but I'm still attracted to the dryer nonetheless. The kit includes 2 airflow concentrator nozzles, 1 fabric Air Flow Diffuser and a very useful toolbag with 8 pockets. The cord is 3m long, so you should have enough room to to move around whilst drying and the 2000w motor should speed up drying time. It features a one touch cold shot button, and a variable airflow setting, so you can adjust it depending on the look you're creating. there's also an Ionic generator to help eliminate frizz. Will this be the end to bad hair days? I don't know, but I'd sure like to find out.

Hair removal is one of those constant annoyances, as no matter how regularly you shave/wax/epilate, those stubborn hairs seem to return almost instantly (at least in my case). The idea of laser hair removal thus seems really attractive to many people as it's one way to permanently reduce the amount of hair that you grow. Yes, that's right- REDUCE. Laser hair removal, whether at home or in the salon will lead to permanent reduction, not permanent removal. Everybody responds to treatment differently so some may find themselves bare for a long time, whilst others may just have to shave once a month or so.
There are a lot of devices on the market at present, but Philips have just created something they feel will blow their competitors' out of the water- entitled the Lumea. This has been in development for quite some time, as I first heard murmurs about it a year and half ago, but it has just been released as they wanted to perfect it.
So how does it work, and what can it do for you?

I'm a big fan of Airbrush makeup as every time I have it done (mainly when I'm making TV appearances) my skin takes on a luminescent flawless glow. A couple of quick spritzes and my skin becomes smooth and peachy looking, and all I need to do is add some blush and blend the edges slightly.

There are many styling tools on the market and hair straighteners are probably the most popular of the bunch. Women worldwide yearn to get sleek shiny hair with minimum of strain, but it's hard to know which model to choose. GHD indisputably rules the roost in the hair straightener world, but that doesn't mean that you should forget about other companies entirely.
EGO haircare is such a brand, promoting high end straighteners which promise salon like results. In fact they even say that the EGO hair straighteners are used exclusively in some salons, with Urban Retreat in Harrods being a fan.
I was sent the BIG Ego straighteners to try out, and to see how they'd fare against other similarly placed brands.

If electronic epilation is your chosen method of depilation (try saying THAT before you've had a coffee!) then you'll be aware that technology is getting better all the time at reducing both the ouch-factor and the length of hair it's possible to remove. And Braun's Silk-Epil range has now produced a gadget that they claim will do both these jobs particularly well.
The new Braun Silk-Epil Xpressive Pro, available next month, has been spruced up with close-grip technology to remove even shorter hairs than before, for long lasting smooth skin. They've also increased the Silk-Epil's speed and given it a new set of high-frequency massaging rollers, which soothe the pain of the epilation process. Best of all though, the handset itself is quite a beauty, with shimmering beads set into the handle. Smart!
The Braun Silk-Epil Xpressive Pro is available from 1 Feb at Boots, Amazon, Argos and selected supermarkets. Priced at £129.99
