Check your boobs out with the Breastlight

what-is-breastlight.jpg

We all know we should be checking our breast regularly for lumps and bumps, but how many of you actually do? And when you do, are you sure you're doing it correctly?

Well the breastlight aims to make sure you have no doubts about what shape your breast are in, and it does so by passing a red light through the breast tissue. The idea is that by shining the light you get to see the details inside the breast, from blood vessel to veins, and once you're aware of what is normal, you'll easily be able to identify anything unusual.

Salter bathroom scales reveal so much more than your weight...

TopView- Body Analyser.jpg

When do you weigh yourself? If you're anything like me you'll do it first thing in the morning, stark naked and sucking in your stomach for good measure (don't ask me why). You expect to see the needle raise perilously high, and if you're lucky the results won't make you want to head straight into McDonald's neon dungeon.

But haven't you ever wondered about more than your weight? You need to know your body fat and muscle mass ratio to get an accurate idea of your bodies wellbeing, and that 's where the Salter Max View scale becomes an essential household item.

Review: Burlesque PowerPlate classes at Core London

core-studio.JPG

Not so long ago I told you about the burlesque PowerPlate options that are available at CORE, well I was so intrigued I just had to go try it for myself. Here's my experience...

Power Plates have been around for a while now, and they're a great way of strengthening your core muscles and toning your body in a low impact manner- as well as being easy to squeeze into your lunch break. Well the latest craze on the block is Burlesque Power Plating, which combines showgirl style moves with strengthening exercises.

I headed down to CORE London to experience the full workout. The studio is lovely, secreted inncously on Wardour Street, and features onlty three machines- so even with a full class you still get a lot of personal attention.

The Philips SatinLux aims to take the Tria's home IPL market

SC2000_00-GAL-global.jpg

Philips first foray into the home laser hair removal market is interestingly placed between the No!No hair removal device and the Tria laser hair removal tool. It's great that a well known brand like Philips are entering this market, as they'll make consumers feel reassured when they embark on a home treatment.

The average cost of one salon session tends to be around £30-£40 for a small area, and you need 6-8 sessions with top ups to notice results, you can see why the home DIY hair removal market is growing. Well Philips newest creation, the SatinLux photo epilator uses Intense Pulsed light to give you a long term reduction in hair growth on the body.

So how does it work?

Hello Kitty/Slendertone mashup

hello_kitty_belt.jpg

OK, I'm still carrying a couple of Christmas pounds, and as it's nearly Feb (with the dreaded Valentine's day looming, I feel like I should get my arse into gear. And naturally, being the doyenne of the sofa, I'd like a quick fix rather than putting in time at the gym.

Well Slendertone style devices have been around for a while, and they tend to tone the muscles, rather than slenderize you. Still, if there's only a thin layer of flab on your midriff, you could get noticeable results whilst catching up on LOST.

Product review: NutriHeat Straighteners

nutriheat_e_.jpg

This product is rather strange to review. The premise behind it is that you're purchasing a pair of high powered straighteners (up to 230 degrees) which contains a small slot. This magic slot is where you insert the NutriHeat capsule, which coats the hair with Imetec nourishing goodness after it has straightened it. Think of it as a two pronged attack- step one straighten then protect it with the NutriHeat capsule.

It's a nice idea to protect you hair after you've used hot tools on it, but does the infusion of vitamins actually work, and can you notice a difference?

Read on to find out.
