These amazing holiday looks just serve as a reminder that we need a Sephora over here! They've been put together by Sephora for the holiday season, and have left me wishing I had an occasion worthy of this kind of extravagant beauty!
Helpfully Sephora have explained the steps behind each look and detailed the products used in each one. View all six Christmas looks here.
If you're with me in thinking this look for Shiseido's fall/winter collection is beautiful, then head over to the super helpful Shiseido site. There you'll find ultra close up shots and detailed explanations of the look. Helpful, huh? You don't need Shiseido products to recreate this but it can't hurt. The Automatic Lip Crayon in particular looks seriously covetable.
MAC has six hallowe'en looks online this year, but these two are undoubtedly the most glamorous. And by glamourous, I mean as glamourous as looking like a zombie gets! Both looks are created entirely using MAC cosmetics, and you can view all the products used, and a few more ghoulish get ups, on the US MAC site.
On a related note, I can tell you that the Antiqutease colour, Finery, Heirloom, Royal Assets, and Viva Glamotous collections will be on sale in the UK from tomorrow. Pennies at the ready!
As I often attest, money is not a very good indication of quality when it comes to cosmetics. Which would explain why Mary Greenwell - a worldwide renowned make up artist whose lessons cost £1000 a day - chose Prestige Liquid Eyeliner (priced around £5) as one of her all time favourite products. Prestige Liquid Eyeliner is available in Boots in nine colours, and Mary says in The Times that 'it gives the darkest line of any I know'. Right, that's me off to bulk buy on them now...
Getting married? Head over to our wedding site, Bridalwave. But before you go, take a gander at tis video, where hairstylist Karine Jackson talks to Bridalwave all about getting your hair right on the big day, and takes a look at a sample bridal style.
When Kate Moss succumbs to a hair trend, you know you're onto something big. I may be a bit biased since I'm sporting one myself at the mo, but the fringe (or bangs, if you're reading this in the US) is big news in the world of fashion at the moment. La Moss is not the only one to go for the chop. Tess Daly, Cheryl Cole, Rosario Dawson and Kristen Bell (to name but a few) have also gone crazy for this bang-on trend (sorry, couldn't resist). Celebrity hair stylist and twice British colourist Anita Cox says "Fringes are a great way to liven up a current hairstyle and create an instant change," and I couldn't agree more. If you're tied to your lengths but fancy a change, a fringe can really make a difference, and the look is so hot right now (natch). See below for tips from the top on how to pick the right fringe to suit your hair...
This is the routine a-list hairdresser Tara Smith used on Demi Moore on set in 100 degree Louisiana heat, so if it can survive that (and judging by the pictures, it did) it should sure as hell survive a night on the dance floor. Here's how she did it...
"Firstly, I blow dried the hair with a Daniel Hersheson ceramic barrel brush (though any good ceramic barrel brush will work), which holds heat inside for lasting staying power. I then dried the hair section by section with a Tourmaline hairdryer using Nioxin’s volumizing root lifter. The top section of hair (the halo-like, u-shaped section at the top of the head) was pulled forward and blow-dried in the opposite direction to where it’s going to lie to give extra root lift. I then used a serum from my own product line which is currently in development on the ends, again any good serum will work."
