There's no denying the word Scholl doesn't exactly reflect glamour. It conjures up images of orthopaedic sandals, lotions that help remove dead skin and those corn plasters no one will admit to owning. Despite their unsexy image, the brand has a long history of creating miracles in the footcare world, as they work hand in hand with many podiatrists.
The Scholl HydraStep sandal has recently been released, and it's essentially a sandal that contains a moisturizing gel in the sole. The idea is that as you walk Vitamin E and natural emollients will soften your skin with each step.
I've been trialling this for two weeks and am ready to report on my findings!

When the fish pedicure first came to public attention it caused cries of disgust amongst the beauty community. Letting little fishes nibble away the dead skin on your feet just didn't sound like a pleasant experience. However people relaxed somewhat when they realized this could be a nice 'natural' solution to ridding themselves of calluses, and fish spas became more commonplace.
They've never made it to the UK though, so when I was in Thailand I decided to try it out for myself. The idea is that the Garra Rufa fish are attracted to the dead skin on the feet and will eat that way, revealing healthy skin beneath. The suction from the fish is said to leave the skin more radiant and plumped up.

It's around this time of year that most of us start to notice the true extent of the damage done by a summer of wearing flimsy footwear. Sandals are a godsend in the heat, but it's hard to find a pair that don't rub or pinch, and the results can be pretty unattractive.
If you're feeling the pain (and also noticing the stink) of neglected feet but are too skint (or embarrassed) to go for a professional pedicure, a DIY footcare session is in order.

It's been well documented how much I dislike feet, but seeing as I've recently given them an overhaul it may be time to start looking at keeping them in good shape. This funky mat, $79 from Kilikan mimics the Asian practise of reflexology. As you walk along the mat the different ridges will work out the tensions in your feet.

I don't like my feet very much. Scratch that, I HATE them. They stay firmly under wraps and put up with abuse on a daily basis. Were I a parent I'd have been taken off to counselling long ago, and that's exactly what Margaret Dabbs is, serious self help for the feet.
Not your average pedicurist, she's a trained chiropodist who works on making the feet look good, INSIDE and OUT, that means intensive assesment, and a real foot overhaul. She's not working on the cosmetic appearance, she nurtures deep down, and somehow she turned my gnarly hooves into the silken slippers of a fourteen year old (well, almost). Read on to learn how she performed this miracle....
