Eddie Funkhouser: the funkiest makeup in the house?

efunkhouser_onstage.jpgIt's rare to see a new makeup range infused which such vibrant personality as Eddie Funkhouser's eponymous line. Great formulations come in super-chic, heavy mirrored packaging that were designed to reflect the renowned international makeup artist's own likes and beliefs. Seriously - take a silver compact out of your handbag and watch jaws around you drop!

NY-native Eddie was on centre-stage at the Clothes Show London recently (where the floor stalls were arguably more 'Beauty Emporium' than 'Clothes Show'!), giving demos with his brand new palettes (see pic, left), before heading back to his stand to perform makeovers on a lucky few. I caught up with Eddie after the show - to see what his favourite product is, and for pics of the gorgeous new range, click on to read more...

You've been tangoed (on purpose)! Tango release a Fake Tan-go tanning lotion

ake_tango_tan.jpg

The term 'Tangoed' has rather derogatory connotation, relating to the general appearance of the 'stars' that tend to grace Page 3. Tango however are deciding to have a 'fun' play with words and are bravely launching their own brand of fake tan, entitled FakeTan-go.

The latest potions and lotions to help you shape up for summer

St Ives Cellulite RangeThe sun has been limbering up and flexing its rays over the last few days, which only means that it's time for us to start stripping off once more.

Of course, this comes with a whole host of its own problems. If cellulite is your main worry, give St Ives a go; the company known to buff away your winter skin with their famed Apricot Scrub now also offers a 2-step 'Cellulite Shield' Gel Crème and Advanced Body Moisturizer, which purports to "reduce the appearance of cellulite in just 2 weeks". The two products, with ingredients including green tea, caffeine and citrus extracts, are only available in the US right now ($6.99 and $4.99 respectively) but they'll no doubt be heading over to the UK shores soon.

Couple of recommendations for dull skin over the jump...

Product Review: Jergens extra softening cream made my Keratosis Pilaris vanish

extra-softening-side (1).jpg

For a long time now I've been plagued by KP, those annoying pimple like protrusions the decorate your upper arms and look like a mild case of acne. I've scrubbed, exfoliated, moisturised (the 'spots' area where the hair follicle has become blocked by excessive keratin and gives the skin that uneven and textured appearance) to no avail, and had pretty much resigned myself to having KP forever

I was using this cream as a regular body moisturiser as I'd long since given up home that I could do anything about my KP. For five days I applied it as usual- legs, arms, stomach, and really enjoyed the light comforting smell, and how rich the cream was. It sank into my skin really quickly and had a really nice texture, but other than smoother skin, I had no real aims for the product. But after five days I noticed something amazing.

Champneys vs. Dr Nick Lowe vs. Blemishes

champneys_sp_304674t.jpgSpots. Acne. Pimples. Whatever you call it, it's a blighting problem for anyone who suffers from them. It doesn't matter if it's just one annoying pop-up before a first date, or full-blown red constellations that aliens might confuse for the Milky Way - they affect confidence and are a major irritation.

Help, though, is at hand. There are many options, from commercial skincare to topical and oral medication, and cosmetic procedures. While Zara tries laser treatment for her skin, I'm giving one more shot at products. I've been trying two sets of cleansers and moisturisers: Champneys' brand new Calming Skincare, and Dr Nick Lowe's Anti-Blemish range...

BioRepair toothpaste aims to give you sweet smelling breath the morning after

BioRepair Night Pack (2).jpg

Morning breath is never fun, especially if you're waking up with a beau next to you. All you want to do is laze around and cuddle, but you don't want to blind him with your foul smelling stench (and vice versa). I'm not saying that using BioRepair toothpaste will have you smelling sweeter than fresh bread first thing in the morning, but it certainly cant hurt.

myface.cosmetics cater to your exact skintone

myfacefaces.jpg

Everyone has endured that awful moment when they realize they're wearing the wrong shade of foundation. It may have looked great in the neon lights of the shop, but on the street they have to admit that they're looking rather Dale Winton. They may have resigned themselves to the fact that they'll make some bad shade choices, but help is at hand, with the fab new range Myface.cosmetics. It's created by world renown makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury (who can be found gracing the backstage rooms of many a fashion show). She's created the range to cater to all skin types, and has made it super easy to find your perfect match by categorizing the products into three sections- fair, medium and medium/dark.
